When face with foreclosure there are a lot of things you will be required to do if you want to stop the foreclosure process. As much as there is to do to stop it, there are just as many things that you should not do if you WANT to stop the foreclosure of your home.

Tip EIGHT:
For many people, once you miss one mortgage payment, the snowball effects begins. After two or three missed mortgage payments, the lender is sending mail crazy asking that you call to arrange to bring the arrear up to date. After three or four missed mortgage payments, not only are you receiving mail from your lender crazy, your phone is ringing off the hook as well with your lender now demanding the arrear be brought current.

At this point of the mortgage, the lender will not be satisfied with a single month’s mortgage payment. They may be willing to work with you on some sort of repayment plan, but it will require you to make a higher monthly installment then what your actual mortgage payment was to begin with. What you were unable to pay before will now be even that much more difficult to achieve if possible at all.

No matter how you look at it, even though there are many options to help stop foreclosure, they all require money in some fashion. Even bankruptcy will require you to pay a lawyer up front for their service to file the petition of bankruptcy. Now is a good time to start allocating your money more accordingly. You can continue to pay off credit card charges, vehicle payments, cable, internet, etc., however, by doing so, while you may maintain all of those items and keep those creditors off your back but you will lose your home. So what is more valuable to you? That is a decision only you can make, but just know that your internet, credit cards and phone will not keep a roof over your head.

If your lender is no longer willing to accept partial payments from you, you still need to nest egg that money. You will still need it if you want to save your home. Call 1st Foreclosure Prevention for valuable insight and direction in how you can save your home if negotiating with your lender is fruitless. They will tell you what options you have available to you and negotiate with your lender the best deal that works for you!

When face with foreclosure there are a lot of things you will be required to do if you want to stop the foreclosure process. As much as there is to do to stop it, there are just as many things that you should not do if you WANT to stop the foreclosure of your home.

Tip SEVEN:

There are lenders that will bend over backwards to help you find options to help you save your home when faced with foreclosure. However, there are even more lenders out there that use the same intimidation as typical auto repossessor and lead you to believe the only way you will be able to retain your property is buy paying the amount due in FULL! They may as well put your home up on the tow and threaten to pull it off the lot.

However, the one thing everyone needs to keep in mind when faced with foreclosure is that you do have options and you need to take advantage of them! There are many options available to homeowners facing foreclosure that can stop foreclosure procedures without having to pay all the back due at once. Options are available to lower or remove back interest rates, removal of late fees, loan modifications that can reduce the amount owed on your property by thousands of dollars and many more. If your lender does not offer you options and uses intimidation rather then a solution you need to seek out 1st Foreclosure Prevention and let them do the negotiation for you. They are experts in saving homes from foreclosure. They will develop a plan that will work best for your situation to come to a solution you will be comfortable with.

You have options, but you should not sit on your hands when faced with foreclosure. You need to take advantage of those options if you want to save your home. The sooner you act upon a foreclosure notice the more options you will have available to you. With every passing day after receiving a foreclosure notice, you lose valuable options that could be costing you thousands of dollars. Contact your lender immediately and if they are less then accommodating, contact 1st Foreclosure Prevention and let them do the work for you.

When face with foreclosure there are a lot of things you will be required to do if you want to stop the foreclosure process. As much as there is to do to stop it, there are just as many things that you should not do if you WANT to stop the foreclosure of your home.

Tip SIX:

Face it; if you are having financial problems, you have a problem. Denying or trying to hide from it does not make it go away. Giving up doesn’t help the matter either. As hard as it may sound, when faced with a bad situation, the most important thing you can do is to try to stay optimistic. You are probably thinking right now “How in the world am I supposed to be able to think optimistic when it feels like my whole world is falling apart?” Well look at it this way, if you don’t, your world will fall apart.

You can choose to either face the problem head on or hide; the way you decide to deal with foreclosure will play a huge factor in whether or not you retain your home. Once you receive notice of intent of foreclosure, with every passing day, your options to be able to keep your home drops. Rather then deny the notice exist; you have to tackle it head immediately. The sooner you make contact with your lender to see what options are available to you in order to save your home, the better likelihood they will have something to offer you. If the thought of dealing with the lender is just far to overwhelming for you, you can contact 1st Foreclosure Preventionand allow them to do the negotiation with your lender for you. When faced with foreclosure, you don’t need to hide from it. Denial will only ensure you lose.

When face with foreclosure there are a lot of things you will be required to do if you want to stop the foreclosure process. As much as there is to do to stop it, there are just as many things that you should not do if you WANT to stop the foreclosure of your home.

Tip Five:
The biggest things that can lead to stopping foreclosureon a home is communication. No communication, you may as well start packing your stuff up the same day you get the notice. Avoiding the lender only ensures that your home will be foreclosed on.

Prior to getting to the point where the lender is ready to foreclose on your property, had you communicated with your lender the first time you missed a mortgage payment you may not have been facing the foreclosure notice you are now. It is important to keep your lender in the know of your financial situation when there have been drastic changes. This gives them the opportunity to update their records and even work with you on making arrangements that may give you more flexibility in maintaining your mortgage until circumstances change for the better.

Believe it or not, your lender would rather you kept your home and they got their money then to be stuck with yet another home they have to try to move. If you are already facing foreclosure, you have no other choice but to communicate with the lender f you want to save your home. If you don’t think you have the skills needed to talk to your lender, contact 1st Foreclosure Prevention and allow one of their loan modification specialist talk to your lender on your behalf. You will however have to talk to the loan modification specialist throughout the process. A loan modification specialist does the hard part and will communicate with you all of the viable options for you according to your particular circumstances. If you can’t pick up the phone to talk to your lender, at least pick up the phone to talk to a loan modification specialist and save your home today.

When face with foreclosure there are a lot of things you will be required to do if you want to stop the foreclosure process. As much as there is to do to stop it, there is just as many things that you should not do if you WANT to stop the foreclosure of your home.

Tip Four:
The first way most people react when they receive a foreclosure notice is in shock, however, although they know they haven’t been current on their mortgage for some time, when the reality hits of the repercussions of not paying, it never is greeted with good will. The next most common reaction to receiving a foreclosure noticeis shame and or embarrassment. It is a lot like having your vehicle repossessed right in front of your eyes while your neighbors watch on. You want to crawl under a rock to never be seen again and hope that it is all just an awful nightmare. Well, now is not the time to hide or let your pride stand in the way of seeking out the help you will need.

Now is the time to ask for help. Understandably, this is not something you want to be going to friends or family about; the mere thought of telling them that your home is being foreclosed on embarrassing enough little lone sharing it over a family dinner or a visit with friends. However, that is exactly what you do need to do. You need to set your pride to the side and look at all avenues you have available to you to help save your home. Good friends and close family will want to help you keep your home. They do not want to see you homeless and if they are in the financial means to help you, let them. If they are not, at least they can be there to help support you emotionally.

Here are the facts of the matter. Eventually everyone will learn of the foreclosure when it hits the local newspaper or when they see you moving out. If they are your friend or close family members, they will not make you feel like a failure, the one thing many homeowners feel when put in this situation. The economy is tough and if you have always been responsible with your mortgage in the past prior to your current financial difficulties, your friends and family will know this as well.

1st Foreclosure Prevention is another great avenue to seek help from. Their specialist can help evaluate your situation and come up with a viable solution for you to save your home. Now is not the time to shut down and shut others out. Now is the time to reach out and save your home from foreclosure.

When face with foreclosure there are a lot of things you will be required to do if you want to stop the foreclosure process. As much as there is to do to stop it, there is just as many things that you should not do if you WANT to stop the foreclosure of your home.

Tip Three:

It is far too common for people to miss a mortgage payment for various reasons. A child may need braces or a family may simply want to enjoy a little time away. For whatever reason a homeowner misses a mortgage payment, if not immediately caught up on the following month, issues begin to incur.

A mortgage payment for one hold way more weight in the credit world then say your gas or electric bill or even a vehicle payment. Once you let one mortgage payment slide and do not feel any immediate repercussions from doing so, it can become a habit whenever anything comes up. The mentality of “I will just catch it up later” ends up becoming a vicious cycle and more times then not, it ends up never being caught up and resolved. Not only will your credit score take a major hit from delinquent mortgage payments, but when you go to try to obtain any other lines of credit, you may as well hang it up. Also keep in mind, when faced with foreclosure, the lower your credit score the less loan modifications plans will be available to you if ever faced with foreclosure. This doesn’t mean that there will be no help available to you, just that the options would have been more plentiful. Do not limit yourself and keep your mortgage current when at all possible.

When face with foreclosure there are a lot of things you will be required to do if you want to stop the foreclosure process. As much as there is to do to stop it, there is just as many things that you should not do if you WANT to stop the foreclosure of your home.

Tip Two:
Faced with foreclosure papers generally demands a large sum of money, something people in this situation generally do not have. It is kind of an oxy-moron if you think about it. Logically, if you had the money you would have been making your mortgage payments. I do not know of anyone really who stops making mortgage payments just so they can be served with an intent of foreclosure note.

I am sure many homeowners are aware of the phrase “home equity line of credit” but how many actually have one. Did you know that 90% of foreclosures would have been prevented or delayed if the homeowner would have activated home equity lines of credit? The sad part of this is that generally it is free to set up an equity credit line and can be locked in at as low as 4%. If you do not access the line of credit, you generally pay nothing and if you set it up as a savings/equity line, the cost is very little.

As long as you are responsible with an equity credit line, it can literally be your home saver if crisis was to arrive. However, if you have not set up such a backup 1st Foreclosure Prevention can assist you by talking to one of their loss mitigation specialist to find a solution for you. Once the solution is established and concluded you may want to consider in the future setting up such an equity line so if ever faced in the same situation you will be relieved knowing you planned ahead.

When face with foreclosure there are a lot of things you will be required to do if you want to stop the foreclosure process. As much as there is to do to stop it, there is just as many things that you should not do if you WANT to stop the foreclosure of your home.

Tip One:

Every homeowner who ends up face to face with foreclosure papers does so because somewhere along the way there was a lack of money to pay the mortgage. With today’s economy, it has been even more difficult to hold on to any amount of money. Each dollar has its home before it ever even reaches your pocket.

Here is where the problem lies. Even though times are difficult, an emergency fund is essential to have if you are living under a mortgage. Every penny you can store away for a rainy day is essential. Basically, no home should be without an emergency fund.

At a minimum, any homeowner should have a nest egg of three mortgage payments stored away. Ideally, it would be better to have 6 months but logically, today, that is just not feasible. There are many areas in ones life where cuts can be made to start a nest egg before a time of crisis ever happens. From the day you purchase a home, you should begin to build such a nest egg. People do not seem to have a problem stowing money away for a vacation, however neglect to plan for cases of emergencies.

Such a nest egg would have stopped many people from losing their home to foreclosure. The nest egg buys time to locate new employment or resolve other issues that may have brought you to the current situation. However, more then likely, if you are reading this it is because you are already facing foreclosure papers or fear it is near. In such a case, 1st Foreclosure Prevention can help you still save your home, lower your mortgage payments, and give you the ability to start building that nest egg so you never find yourself in the same circumstances again.
